Case File: A Full-time Controller
Retained Search
Nautical Defense
Situation: A small business that provides undersea warfare solutions was growing quickly and looking to add another staff member to their finance department. The organization already employed an AMS consultant several days a week, but realized the need for a full-time controller to provide additional support and assist in the company’s growth.
Response: The company contacted AMS to perform a retained search for a full-time controller. The AMS team first met with the Finance Manager, Executive Vice President and company President to analyze the company culture, and define both the hard and soft skills the company was looking for in a Controller. The AMS team edited the job description, promoted the job requirements and arranged the first candidate interview, all within the first two days of the search.
Results: Of the three candidates AMS referred to the company, the company selected one to appoint as their controller. From the first meeting, kicking off the retained search, to the newly hired controller’s first day on the job, the process took just three weeks. The AMS team performed a quick, efficient and extremely effective retained search, which will provide the prospering company with the resources they need to continue to grow.
Everything from the first phone call to the final offer letter and signature, the entire process was smooth and professional.
