Gorham Brigham Jr. Lifetime Achievement Award as part of the Boston Business Journal’s (BBJ) second annual “CFO of the Year” awards. The award was named for the inaugural recipient of the award, F. Gorham Brigham, Jr., a well-known community activist for business, charitable and patriotic organizations.

Faber and the 10 CFO of the Year honorees will formally accept their awards on July 14th, 2010 at the BBJ’s CFO of the Year luncheon. The honorees, selected by a panel of local financial service sector leaders and the BBJ’s editorial staff, include chief finance officers from EMD Serono, Samsonite LLC, City Year Inc., Partners in Health, Babson College, Art Technology Group Inc., LogMeIn Inc., Millipore Corp., Carbonite Inc., and Pyxis Mobile.

Faber is a seasoned business executive with five decades in private industry and professional services. Al has been a director for several major international public accounting firms, focusing on organizational and employee development, business strategy and operations. In addition, Al has served on a significant number of non-profit and private entity boards during his long and accomplished career. In 2007, he was the recipient of Financial Executives International’s Distinguished Service Award for his many contributions in advancing the FEI organization. He is a frequent speaker at business association and industry meetings.
