(AMS), the leading provider of outsourced part-time, interim and project-oriented finance and accounting services, is adding two new members to its team.  AMS welcomes Thomas Gorman, director, Education Client Practice and Edward Blum, director, Professional Search.

Gorman Adds Deep Industry Expertise for Education Practice

Tom Gorman is working with AMS’s education services team.  He most recently worked at KPMG LLP where he led services for public and private colleges and universities, and other not-for-profit organizations. Previously he was the deputy state auditor for the state of Vermont. His prior roles included positions with McSoley, McCoy & Company, Arthur Andersen & Co., and volunteering with Financial Services Volunteer Corp where he evaluated the internal controls and audit infrastructure of Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Blum to Focus on Retained Search

With the addition of Ed Blum, AMS is now conducting retained searches for executive and upper level finance and accounting management positions.  Blum joins AMS from the Boston office of Hollister, Inc. where he was the director of Direct Hire for the accounting and finance, technology, sales and administrative divisions.  Previously, he held senior management roles at Venturi Career Partners/Franklin-Pierce Associates. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Ithaca College and an MBA from Babson College.
