Waltham, MA – December 7, 2010 – Accounting Management Solutions, Inc. (AMS), a leading provider of outsourced part-time, interim and project-oriented accounting, financial management and consulting services, today announced Dan Davis, previously the director of the company’s life sciences practice, has expanded his area of responsibility to encompass all technology companies, including green and clean tech.
“As a former CFO who has both raised funds and taken life sciences and technology companies through the IPO and M&A processes, Dan is uniquely qualified to assist firms at all stages of their life cycles,” said Jim Bourdon, founder and CEO of Accounting Management Solutions, Inc. “He understands the enormous challenge of raising capital in multiple industries and what companies need in order to run their finance and accounting operations effectively.”
Prior to joining AMS in 2007, Davis was CEO of Change Dynamics, a venture-backed enterprise software company with a best practice, change management solution. He was also the vice president of Business Development and CFO at several venture-backed companies, including Biopure Corporation, where he led the company’s IPO.
“The current funding environment, like the overall business environment, rewards the most capital efficient companies,” said Davis. “Our clients want to know how they can operate leaner, make their dollar go further and get the best return on any investments they make in their business.
“In bio-tech and life sciences companies, we are seeing smaller core executive teams and a great deal of comfort with on-demand outsourcing of expertise.” Davis continued, “Technology-oriented companies are doing well by leveraging existing platforms. These strategies bring products to market faster and mean that less capital is required to start up and support a firm through the revenue generation stages.”
Davis helps technology and life sciences companies develop and implement strategic plans, raise funding, structure key partnerships, and achieve successful exits for investors.
